Yes – can go in your blue cart |

Space your carts!
The automated collection arm on the collection truck needs space in order to collect your blue and black carts. If you can walk between and around your carts, that’s enough space.
Spring Yard Waste drop-off to City landfills
What’s old is new again when composting your yard waste. From April 7 – May 28, all three City landfills will waive fees for residential spring yard waste. Bring your leaves, branches, plants (no sod – it’s not accepted in the program) and other yard waste to any City landfill for free composting.
Please use paper yard waste bags, leave the material loose or bring it in plastic bags (plastic bags must be emptied onsite). This program is only for residential customers and charges will apply if your load contains other items.
By composting your yard waste, this material is kept out of the landfill and given a second life as compost.
Free mulch is available for pick up at all City landfills for both residents and businesses. Bring your shovels as you are required to load your own vehicle.
Please note that landfill hours have changed! Check the days/hours of your nearest landfill and other program details at calgary.ca/yardwaste.
