-Compostable yard waste (use your green cart or free seasonal drop at the landfill)
-Cardboard (must be disposed of at the local recycling depot).
-Paint
-Railroad ties
-Household chemicals
-Hazardous materials
-Light fixtures with Ballasts
-Fluorescent light tubes
-Refrigerators or water coolers (anything that contains Freon)
-Used oil
The Process
When selecting your items for the Cleanup remember to donate first, recycle second and throw out last. Pack your vehicle in the reverse order so that we will be able to unload in this order.
Our cleanup day gets busier every year, so please be patient with the volunteers that are here to help make the cleanup successful. We all do our best to get everyone through the lineup as fast as we can.
Due to capacity, we may impose cut offs to line ups prior to the event end time. (For example, we may cap the line at 1 p.m. so all vehicles may dispose of waste prior to the 2 p.m. event closing time).
Please visit for City of Calgary website for additional details and for the full list of Community Cleanup dates at all locations around the city.
See you at the cleanup!
